Daniel Burston

is a native of Toronto, Canada. He is an Associate Professor in (and former Chair of) the Psychology Department at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and the author of The Legacy of Erich Fromm (Harvard University Press, 1991), The Wing of Madness: The Life and Work of R. D. Laing (Harvard University Press, 1996), Erik Erikson and the American Psyche: Ego, Ethics and Evolution (Jason Aronson, 2007), A Forgotten Freudian: The Passion of Karl Stern (Karnac, 2016) and many other books and articles on the history of psychology, psychiatry and psychoanalysis.
