J. Edward Hackett is an independent scholar who has taught at Notre Dame College, Savannah State University, and the University of Akron. He specializes in phenomenology, pragmatism, and ethics. He received his Ph.D. from Southern Illinois University in 2013, and his MA in philosophy from Simon Fraser University in 2008. He is author of Persons and Values in Pragmatic Phenomenology (2018) and coeditor of the anthology Phenomenology for the 21st Century (2016) with J. Aaron Simmons. His work on James and Scheler has appeared in both Russian and Spanish translation. He resides in Savannah, GA with his wife Ashley.
