Deepa Majumdar

Dr. Majumdar is a professor of philosophy at Purdue University Northwest, USA. She specializes in the Enneads of Plotinus and Indian Advaita Vedānta. Besides comparative theology, she has research and creative interests in topics as varied as technology, anti-racism, and Gandhian thought. Her published works include a book, titled, Plotinus on the Appearance of Time and the World of Sense: A Pantomime, a volume  of philosophical poetry, titled, Song of the Solipsistic One, and papers in peer-reviewed international and  national journals, plus an anthology. She has published on Plotinus, Plato, Gandhi, and comparative theology  (Plotinus’ Enneads and Advaita Vedānta, including the Bhagavadgītā). She has also published essays on  topics as varied as the Covid-19 pandemic and technology. Finally, she has published book reviews in peer reviewed journals like Ancient Philosophy, The Classical Review, and The International Journal of the  Platonic Tradition.
Dr. Majumdar’s forthcoming works include three essays – one each on the nature of war, the crisis of  the modern self, and quietude in Plato and Plotinus. Her works-in-progress include book projects on Plotinus  and Indian thought, the ethos of revolution, and politics.
