Elvira Simfa

Elvira Šimfa is an Assistant Professor and Senior Researcher at the Faculty of Humanities, University of Latvia, and a founding member of the interdisciplinary Center for Germany Studies (Interdisziplinäres Zentrum für Deutschland-Studien) in Riga. Her research focuses on classical German philosophy, particularly Immanuel Kant’s practical philosophy. She also works in social and political philosophy—engaging with Rousseau, Hegel, Marx, the Frankfurt School, and Hannah Arendt—and in the philosophy of artificial intelligence, exploring conceptions of the human being in AI research. Her academic activities include research projects, publications, conference participation, and teaching courses on history of philosophy, ethics and social and political philosophy.
