Nicole M. Butkovich Kraus

PhD, Assistant Professor of Sociology at West Texas A&M University. Dr. Kraus is a specialist in xenophobia and nationalism, social stratification, intersectionality, and migration. She received her doctorate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, writing about xenophobia in the Russian Federation. She has conducted fieldwork in Russia and Poland and has extensive knowledge of Russian and Soviet history and society. Recently her work has focused on the experiences of vulnerable populations and refugees in Texas, Ukraine, Poland, and Myanmar.
