Marcin Rychter

Dr. Marcin Rychter received his PhD in 2016 from the Institute of Philosophy, University of Warsaw, with distinction. His dissertation was devoted to the contemporary Avant-garde music interpreted, from the perspective of philosophy of culture, as a syndrome of a cultural revolution. Currently he is working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Philosophy of Culture at the Faculty of Philosophy (previously the Institute of Philosophy) of the University of Warsaw. He is a philosopher, translator and editor. He translated works of: Simon Armitage, W. H. Auden, Ray Brassier, W. K. C. Guthrie, Agnes Heller, Graham Harman, Adrian Johnston, D. H. Lawrence, Jonathan Lear, Herman Melville, Richard Rorty, Charles Taylor, A. N. Whitehead and others. He is co-editor and co-author of the book: Między integracją a rozproszeniem. Doświadczenie estetyczne w kontekstach nowoczesności (Warszawa: 2018). His main fields of interest include: Philosophy of Music, Philosophy of Literature, Philosophy of Technology, Philosophy of Culture, Contemporary Non-analytical Metaphysics, Contemporary American Prose. As the Deputy Editor-in-Chief he is involved in monitoring the whole editorial process, ensuring its neutral, honest, and transparent character. As with all members of the Board, he takes the lead on an issue of the journal periodically.
