Uryen Blánquez Gálvez

Uryen Blánquez is a PhD candidate in Communication at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona), where he previously completed a Masters in Contemporary Film and Audiovisual Studies. His research focuses on the notion of realism and its reassessment in contemporary film theory, with particular attention to phenomenology and the legacy of André Bazin. His work also engages with experimental cinema and the intersections between film, perception, and visual arts. He has conducted archival research at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and the New York Public Library, and has collaborated with the Xcèntric programme at the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB).
